Direct Your Prayer to Wisdom

~~~ Sirach 51:12 cd-20 ~~~ Psalm 19 ~~~ Mark 11:27-33 ~~~
 Jesus asks those who doubt him complex questions.
These questions require discussion and higher level thinking skills.
In the end all involved are left questioning their own question.
Jesus did not resort to arguing and verbally fighting with the hecklers in the crowd.
He would consistently out wit them.
Sometime wish I had that ability.
When the elders asked Jesus...
“By what authority are you doing these things?
Or who gave you this authority to do them?”
He turned the question around on them. In the he left them utterly confused.
 So they said to Jesus in reply, “We do not know.”
If you cannot formulate your own answers
how can you evaluate the responses of the one you are questioning?
Jesus fed them a dose of their own medicine; they were fickle.
They just blurted out questions just to hear themselves talking.
They constantly tried to confuse Jesus, but they were never successful.
The bottom line is that whatever Jesus said was...
perfect...refreshing...simple...
...trustworthy...enlightening...enduring...clear...true...
The precepts of the Lord give joy to the heart.
They are more precious than gold
 The author of the book of Sirach beautifully writes...
I sought wisdom openly in my prayer
I prayed for her before the temple,
and I will seek her until the end...
 We, as humans, look for answers to our many questions.
 We just might be surprised to just how many answers
we are given if we pray for wisdom.
Until recently I never intentionally prayed for wisdom.
Lord, grant me the wisdom to better understand your holy ways.
Guide me with this gift of wisdom in my daily endeavors.
