Anchor of the Soul

~~~ Hebrews 6:10-20 ~~~ Psalm 111 ~~~ Mark 2:23-28
 ...hold fast to the hope that lies before us.
This we have as an anchor of the soul,
sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil...
The anchor keeps the boat from drifting off course.
The anchor keeps the boat secured in one place.
The anchor is the one thing connecting the boat to a certain location.
The anchor keeps the boat firm and secure as it needs to be.
Once the anchor is cast into the water it is no longer visible,
but the captain knows it is there.
Rough waters may rock the boat, but the
anchor holds the position.
The anchor is designed to dig itself into the sandy ocean floor.
The anchor can get rusty and dirty, but it still performs its role.
Have you ever noticed that an anchor is usually shaped like a cross?
Where would our spiritual life be without hope?
It is our steadfast hope in the Lord that
sustains us in difficult times.
Placing our hope in the Lord is the only true anchor.
If we place our hope in others there can be no guarantee.
Hope keeps us grounded in the truth.
Hope keeps us anchored in the promises of the Lord.
Without hope we are doomed to be tossed
about in the turbulent waters of life.
Without hope we loose our way...we drift into uncharted waters.
Without hope the future looks murky and too daunting.
We have this HOPE as an anchor for the soul
firm and secure.
We are Blessed with the anchor of Hope
in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
~~~Peace~~~
