~~~ Acts of the Apostles 2:14, 22-33 ~~~ Psalm 16 ~~~ Matthew 28:8-15 ~~~
'...God raised this Jesus...'
This is an important short phrase...God Raised Jesus from the dead;
Jesus did not raise himself.
Jesus told us many times that he came to do the will of the Father...
It was the will of the Father that his Son be raised from the dead on the third day.
The physical body of Jesus would not be subjected to decay and corruption.
Jesus would return to the Father to share in his Glory;
his rightful place in heaven.
Matthew's version of the women meeting Jesus after discovering the empty tomb,
'...Jesus met them on their way and greeted them...'
They recognize who he is and immediately kneel down and kiss his feet.
Now they can freely tell the guards what has happened.
They know nothing can happen to Jesus now that he has his body of Glory.
Jesus tells them to not be afraid, but to go and tell the others.
The women were eager to get to the tomb...
Were they just diligent about completing the burial rituals?
Or were they convinced he would indeed be raised from the dead,
thus missing from the tomb?
Jesus promises a meeting with the apostles in Galilee.
There he will reveal more of his promised Glory to them.
Jesus is sending us a message to join him also...
He has much more to reveal to us.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
He is Risen!
