Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
~~~ Ezekiel 17:22-24 ~~~ Psalm 92 ~~~
~~~ 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 ~~~ Mark 4:26-34 ~~~
We are always courageous,
although we know that while we are at home in the body
we are away from the Lord,
for we walk by faith, not by sight.
although we know that while we are at home in the body
we are away from the Lord,
for we walk by faith, not by sight.
St. Paul is writing his second letter
to his friends from Corinth.
In spite of trials and frustrations
Paul remains courageous.
I am sure you have met people
whom you would consider to be courageous.
to his friends from Corinth.
In spite of trials and frustrations
Paul remains courageous.
I am sure you have met people
whom you would consider to be courageous.
Men and women, who when faced with illness
or seemingly impossible tasks
draw on their courageous spirit within.
or seemingly impossible tasks
draw on their courageous spirit within.
I wonder do we all have this ability to be courageous?
Is it reserved for only the brave and fearless?
Is it necessary to make a conscious effort to be courageous?
Is it reserved for only the brave and fearless?
Is it necessary to make a conscious effort to be courageous?
Paul goes on to say that while we are at home in the body
this is not being with the Lord.
We are at home with the body because
the body is what we know the best.
We have been in our body from the beginning
of our existence as a person.
this is not being with the Lord.
We are at home with the body because
the body is what we know the best.
We have been in our body from the beginning
of our existence as a person.
Here is where we activate our courage...
We walk by faith...
We believe that this body, that we know so well,
is not all that there is to our existence.
We walk by faith...
We believe that this body, that we know so well,
is not all that there is to our existence.
We cannot see what lies ahead for us,
but we believe...
We believe that there must be something better.
Something that is closer to the Lord himself.
While in the body we can exercise our courage;
it is the body itself that keeps us from being with Jesus.
We walk by faith, not by sight.
We are prevented from seeing all
that has been prepared for us.
Our final judgment
will give us the whole picture of our life.
We are prevented from seeing all
that has been prepared for us.
Our final judgment
will give us the whole picture of our life.
Perhaps it will be like watching a motion
picture of your life...
narrated by God.
picture of your life...
narrated by God.
For God knows what is the motivation
within your heart for all of your actions.
within your heart for all of your actions.
There will be no need for us to defend our actions.
God will spotlight where we acted with him
and where we acted in opposition.
God sees when we walk by faith.
God knows our desire to see.
Blessings to courageously walk in trust.
~~~Peace~~~
