Look to the East

~~~ Jeremiah 23:5-8 ~~~ Psalm 72 ~~~ Matthew 1:18-25 ~~~
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,
...which means “God is with us.”
Behold the day is coming...look to the east...
It is the coming of the Lord.
The one we long for is coming...
he is coming to be with us...to be one of us.
God is truly with us...
He comes to us in the silence and stillness of our heart.
The Lord is coming to save us with truth and justice.
He is the sprout from the shoot of Jesse.
He is the blossom, the pure flower of love.
God used the prophets, relatives, angels and dreams
to prepare the way of the Lord.
How are your preparations going for his coming?
This is not just another holiday celebration.
This is evidence of the greatest love ever known to mankind.
Even those who do not believe come to the manger
and gaze upon the loveliness.
The manger scene is frozen in time, but the coming
of the Lord has never been more real.
He comes to save us. to love us, and to be loved by us.
Who does not love a baby?
Look to the East a new day is dawning...
a day of Blessing is about to unfold in our soul.
Come, Jesus, Come.
We wait in stillness for your presence.
~~~Peace~~~

Emmanuel...How Beautiful

~~~ Jeremiah 23:5-8 ~~~ Psalm 72 ~~~ Matthew 1:18-25 ~~~
God's promise of deliverance was seen by Matthew
as fulfilled in the birth of Jesus.
The birth of Jesus was literally 'God with us'...with his people.
God is with us, because we are his people in this present time.
Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,
which means “God is with us.”
I cannot think of anything more beautiful than having God with me.
God is with us in everything we do.
God is with us in everything we say.
God is with us in every breath we take.
God is with us from the beginning to the end.
God is with us in the darkness.
God is with us in the light of our joy.
God is with us in our suffering and pain.
God is with us in our struggles with temptations.
God is with us as we kneel before him.
God is with us as we pray for each other.
God is with us as we share his unconditional love.
God is with us always...forever.
Blessings in keeping him close as Christmas day is approaches.
Emmanuel, God is with us!
~~~ Jeremiah 23:5-8 ~~~ Psalm 72 ~~~ Matthew 1: 18-25 ~~~

Emmanuel, God is with us!

Upon waking from his dream, Joseph had no choice but to trust and believe that following God's plan was in the best interest for everyone.
Not knowing at the time that God's plan would reach much farther than
the birth of the child growing inside of Mary, his betrothed.

"Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel,
who alone does wondrous deeds.
And blessed forever be his glorious name;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory."

Most would not have believed that a mere carpenter's son
would be a king in the making.
God had many from whom he could have chosen to be
the earthly parents of Jesus,
but he chose two quiet humble faith filled humans.
He chose one woman and one man, placing upon their hearts
a trust that could have only come from him.

Jesus began his life isolated from wealth and commerce.
Joseph took Mary away and she gave birth in an obsecure stable.

God, from the beginning, places Jesus among the poor and lowly.
While his genealogy is from the line of David,
Jesus was not born in a luxurious palace with slaves
scurrying around to tend to his needs.

God chose to birth Jesus into a humble setting rather than one of wealth.
If Jesus had come from wealth he might not have ever
walked along the river banks.
If Jesus had been born into wealth he might not have ever
chosen fishermen to follow him.
If Jesus had been born into wealth his compassionate
heart may have never been revealed to us
through his healings.

Every year we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Every year we can gain new insight to the wonder
of what God has done for us.

Jesus came for all of us.
He came embracing humility with only the bare necessities...
namely one woman and one man who loved
him without knowing who he actually was...
God the Son.

The Word became flesh and lived among us.
He physically lived among us then,
but now his spirit lives among us...

Emmanuel, God is with us!
