...but no one laid a hand upon him,
because his hour had not yet come.
because his hour had not yet come.
Now days event planners and event coordinators are in high demand.
We are so busy or so concerned about the correct protocol
that we pay someone else to handle the details.

Every part of a wedding reception, for instance, is timed.
The event coordinator has the exact time the cake is to cut.
How the couple should hold the glasses
for the champagne toast is orchestrated.
This detailed planning is carried out by someone
who has experience with these types of events on a regular basis.
his hour had not yet come.

Jesus had no such event planner.
God had the entire plan for our salvation already laid out.
The timing for Jesus to die was parallel to the Jewish feast of Passover.
The sacrificial offering of the unblemished lamb would be replaced.
The unblemished offering would become the perfect offering of Jesus.
Jesus knew this timing was important so he curtailed his visibility accordingly.

...his life is not like that of others,
and different are his ways.
and different are his ways.
The book of Wisdom tells us that the life of God is not like ours.
There is no comparison between us and God.
There is no comparison between us and God.
The book of Ecclesiastes tells there is a time for everything...
including a time to die.
It would not be considered normal or advisable
for us to plan our own death.
But this is exactly what Jesus does.
He knows his precise time to die and so he shields
himself until that appointed hour.
From the very beginning of his public ministry,
if not before, he knew how things would end.
This was the plan given to him to fulfill by the Father.
He states many times that he came to do the will of the Father.
The Father was the ultimate 'event planner'.

Blessed to surrender to the master 'event planner'.
Peace.
Peace.
