~~~ Exodus 40:16-21, 34-38 ~~~ Psalm 84 ~~~ Matthew 13:47-53 ~~~
Led by the cloud of God's glory...
Moses did exactly as God ordered.
He created the dwelling place for God to reside
amidst all his glory.
He brought the ark into the Dwelling and hung the curtain veil,
thus screening off the ark of the commandments,
as the LORD had commanded him.
thus screening off the ark of the commandments,
as the LORD had commanded him.
The hovering cloud of God could be seen from a great distance.
The rising and setting of the cloud told them when to move forward.
If the cloud rose high in the sky
the people would break camp.
They would resume their journey from that place.
...But if the cloud did not lift, they would not go forward;
only when it lifted did they go forward.
only when it lifted did they go forward.
God used sign language to communicate from a distance.
The sign language of a rising and setting cloud.
When God was in his ultimate glory not even Moses could
enter into the dwelling place.
This reminds me of the child's recess game...
red light, green light.
If the leader says green light you can move towards the goal.
If 'red light' is called out you must stop immediately
or risk being out of the game.
God was not playing games.
He was making them pay attention to him.
He was giving them hope...every time the cloud rose.
The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea,
which collects fish of every kind.
which collects fish of every kind.
The truth is; the Kingdom of Heaven is available to each of us.
We all belong to God.
We will all be gathered up into the great net of eternity.
When that day comes the good will be separated from the bad.
Even though we have been caught in the very same net,
only the good will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
So now that you know;
will you be prepared for the final separation.
Separation, that is, from the bad.
When it is full they haul it ashore
and sit down to put what is good into buckets.
and sit down to put what is good into buckets.
I hope to catch up with you in the bucket.
Blessings in being separated;
to be kept with the good.
See you in the Bucket!
