~~~ Job 42: 1-3, 5-6, 12-17 ~~~ Psalm 119 ~~~ Luke 10: 17-24 ~~~
Have you ever been totally blown away
by a close encounter with the Divine?
If you answered 'yes' then you can identify with the
seventy-two disciples in Luke's gospel.
The seventy-two disciples returned rejoicing and said to Jesus,
"Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name."
"Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name."
If you are open to allowing God to use you for his good.
You too will be overwhelmed while simultaneously be humbled.
When God uses you for good there should be no doubt
in your heart that it is God acting
and not your personal ability.
Pray for God to use you as an instrument of his own.
Blessed Mother Teresa believed that everything she did was parallel
with God's work on earth.
God sent Jesus to be one of us.
Jesus was the example of what it means to do the will of the Father.
The disciples we read about today experience a taste
of what it meant to have their faith fully activated.
When you have a close encounter with the Lord it is like
activating your new credit card or some other account.
When your faith becomes fully activated
it follows that you can trust God to use you too.
"...All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows who the Son is except the Father,
and who the Father is except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
No one knows who the Son is except the Father,
and who the Father is except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
Job, like us, has seen and experienced the workings of God
without being blessed with the understanding.
We can see and appreciate the things of God and still
not be given the grace of knowledge.
God will always remain a wonderful mystery to us
in our human existence.
"...I have dealt with great things that I do not understand;
things too wonderful for me, which I cannot know..."
things too wonderful for me, which I cannot know..."
In Job's later years of life God blessed him abundantly.
All that had been taken away from him was abundantly restored to him.
Job was humbled by God's might and power.
Job never turned away from God, he remained steadfast
even in his darkest days.
Job experienced the out pouring of God's love for him while still on earth.
Some may not have this experience of God's love until they die.
Never doubt God's unfathomable love for you.
The psalmist sings in psalm 119
requesting God's blessing of discernment
in order to better understand his ways.
If we pray for God to give us understanding
we will have a better view point when things in our life
seem to be working against us.
Job is a perfect example for us to learn from.
God never abandoned Job.
God stood with Job in his suffering.
God blessed Job for his faithfulness.
God amazed the disciples of Jesus, giving them gifts of healing.
God blessed the disciples of Jesus, giving them words of conversion.
Look for ways in your life that indicate God is blessing you too.
Because trust me God is showering your life with gifts and blessings...
Are you ignoring them or celebrating them?
Only you know in your heart.
Be Blessed!
God is working wonders through you now today.
