The Tenderness of God

~~~ Isaiah 49:8-15 ~~~ Psalm 145 ~~~ John 5:17-30 ~~~
Can a mother forget her infant,
be without tenderness for the child of her womb?
Even should she forget, I will never forget you.
These words from the prophet Isaiah are so very comforting to me.
We tend to put God in a male gender box.
Today we are presented with the possibility that God
 may also have the disposition of a female...a mother.
We look at God as only a powerful father figure,
 this is what we mostly hear.
An expectant mother is intimately connected with her child.
We are being invited to consider this same connection
between us and God.
God's love goes beyond the expectant mother connection...
it remains all the way into eternity.
Even should she forget, I will never forget you.
Make this personal...Use your own name...
God will never forget me.
This is so humbling; why would I be that important to God?
God breathed our first breath into our nostrils...
now that is true long lasting love.
God sent Jesus to flesh out love
so that we would have a reason to believe.
The tenderness of God just might be
 a more telltale sign of his great love.
Do not keep God in the 'male gender box'.
Jesus came to do the will of the Father...
Jesus came to be the expression of tenderness.
We are Blessed through the tenderness of God...
a mother's sweet tenderness.
Let God hold you tenderly in his arms.
~~~Peace~~~
